‘Ford v Ferrari’ Director-Producer James Mangold: 3 Things To Know
Based on the true story of one of the greatest rivalries in car-making history, Ford v Ferrari is set to hit theaters on November 15.
At the wheel of this highly-anticipated feature film is acclaimed director-producer James Mangold. Here are three things you should know about him:
1. Mangold has worked as a feature writer and director since 1995, when his first feature, the independent film Heavy, won the best directing prize at the Sundance Film Festival.
2. After the critical and box office success of the X-Men movie The Wolverine (2013), which he directed, Mangold was signed to write the story and direct the sequel, Logan (2017). Mangold went on to receive an Academy Award nomination for Logan, making it the first superhero film to earn an Academy Award nomination for writing.
3. Ford v Ferrari is Mangold’s fifth collaboration with Academy Award-nominated cinematographer Phedon Papamichael and his seventh collab with editor Michael McCusker.
