Produced By: New York Announces First Masterclasses For November 9 Confab
Ford v Ferrari, Harriet, Little Women, Marriage Story Announced as First Masterclasses
New York, NY (October 2, 2019) – The Producers Guild of America (PGA) is thrilled to announce the first round of speakers for its Masterclass series at Produced By: New York conference on Saturday, November 9 at Florence Gould Hall in New York City.
These speakers will be featured in film production masterclasses led by the top producing teams from the 2019 award season’s buzziest films.
Produced By: New York also previously announced that Scott Stuber, head of Netflix Film, will be the keynote speaker and will be in conversation with Ron Howard, the Oscar-winning director and Co-founder and Chairman of Imagine Entertainment.
Those confirmed for the Masterclasses to date include: co-directors and producers Steven Bognar (American Factory, A Lion in the House) and Julia Reichert (American Factory, A Lion in the House); triple-threat writer, director, producer James Mangold (Ford v Ferrari); powerhouse producer Debra Martin Chase (Harriet, Zoe Ever After); director and writer, Kasi Lemmons (Harriet, Eve’s Bayou); award winning actress, singer and songwriter Cynthia Erivo (Harriet, Widows); pioneering director and writer Greta Gerwig (Little Women, Lady Bird); veteran producer Amy Pascal (Little Women, Spider-Man™: Into the Spider-Verse); Oscar-nominated director and writer Noah Baumbach (Marriage Story, The Squid and the Whale); prolific producer David Heyman (Marriage Story, Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood); multi-hyphenate director, producer, cinematographer editor Nanfu Wang (One Child Nation, Hooligan Sparrow), and producer Julie Goldman (One Child Nation, Love, Gilda).
This year’s event is designed to offer attendees intimate access to key industry leaders, veteran producers and creative collaborators who are defining the future of producing in the age of streaming and platform proliferation. And to cap off the conference, all attendees will have the opportunity to connect and network with their peers and industry leaders at an evening reception.
The Produced By Conference is presented by the Producers Guild of America’s charitable entity, the PGA Foundation, as it embodies the Foundation’s core mission to educate and empower those who work in the producing profession.
Discounted early-bird registration has been extended through Monday, October 7.
