Eyes On The Horizon For Produced By: New York Opening Industry Session

On November 9, Produced By: New York presents Scott Stuber, the Vice President of Film for Netflix, in conversation with Ron Howard, the award winning Co-Founder and Chairman of Imagine Entertainment. Netflix and Imagine Entertainment are two heavyweights in modern Hollywood, and they both have their eyes set on the horizon.

Scott Stuber began his career at Universal Pictures and is now Vice President of Film at Netflix. The New York Times called him “one of the most important — and disruptive — people in the film business.” Now that Netflix is dominating the TV market, with 112 Emmy nominations last year, Stuber has his sights on the film market.

This will include Netflix releasing Ron Howard’s current project, an adaptation of Hillbilly Elegy, based on the best-selling book by J.D. Vance.

Ron Howard’s illustrious career started as a child actor and now includes two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, two Academy Awards, four Emmys, a Grammy, two Golden Globes, and more. He created Imagine Entertainment with co-CEO Brian Grazer in 1986, and at age 65 Howard has obviously learned you have to keep moving to stay competitive.

And Imagine Entertainment is making moves.

They recently brought in Rich Battista, former Time Inc. CEO, to oversee Imagine Entertainment’s core production business and its continuing push into new territory. They recently created Imagine Impact, a content incubator to develop new content and new creators, they secured a $100 million TV deal with Hong Kong’s TVB, and they invested in Jax Media, who are known for multiple stand-up comedy specials on Netflix and TV shows like The Detour and Full Frontal With Samantha Bee.

Check out this highly-anticipated Opening Industry Session at Produced By: New York on Saturday, November 9.

Registration is only $125 for PGA Members and $200 for Non-PGA Members if you register before October 1.
