SCOTT THIGPEN has been Chief Operating Officer of Crazy Legs Productions since 2012. In that time, the company has grown to become a leading producer of non-fiction television and branded entertainment.
Recent series developed and produced by Crazy Legs include A Season With on Showtime, Family By the Ton on TLC, Inside the Madness on FaceBook, and Dead Silent and To Catch a Killer on Investigation Discovery.
Besides managing daily operations and driving strategic growth, Thigpen has directed numerous episodes of true-crime shows Swamp Murders, Your Worst Nightmare, and Bloodlands for ID, as well as Hidden City and Faked Out for Travel Channel.
Prior to Crazy Legs, Thigpen focused on developing social issues programming for the humanitarian agency, CARE.
He co-produced and edited the Emmy Award-winning holocaust documentary Burning Questions; wrote, produced and directed The Last Child, examining worldwide polio eradication efforts; produced the women’s empowerment documentary feature A Powerful Noise, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Scott developed and produced successive International Women’s Day events, A Powerful Noise LIVE and Half the Sky LIVE, simulcast in theatres nationwide.
Thigpen is a founding member of the Atlanta chapter of the Producers Guild of America and currently serves as Chair.
