Lía Rodríguez has worked for thirteen years as a legal advisor and project developer at the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry’s production company. During this period Lia designed the production and co-production of a large number of films, such as “Suite Habana”, “Madrigal” and “El ojo del canario”, by Fernando Pérez; “Hacerse el sueco” and “Lisanka” by Daniel Díaz Torres; “Lista de espera” and “El cuerno de la abundancia” by Juan Carlos Tabío; “La edad de la peseta” and “Omertá” by Pavel Giroud; “Páginas del diario de Mauricio” by Manuel Pérez Paredes; “Ciudad en rojo” by Rebeca Chávez; among several others. Lia has developed international co-productions between Cuba and various countries such as Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Venezuela, Mexico, Spain, Germany, France and United Kingdom.
Since 2011 Lia has been producing independently various types of audiovisual productions in Cuba, while keeping her work as legal consultant. Among the titles she has produced are, “The Companion” by Pavel Giroud (Cuba-France-Colombia-Venezuela copro), “Four seasons in Havana” by Felix Viscarret (Spain-Cuba-Germany copro), “Sharing Stella” by Kiki Alvarez (Cuba-Colombia copro).
She also provides production services for film, advertising and high profile events, his last being Chanel’s first ever Cuban fashion show held in Havana in May of 2016.
Since 2013 Lia heads the Industry Area at the renown International Film Festival of New Latin American Cinema in Havana, Cuba.
Also has teaching experience, as a collaborating professor, in the area of Copyright, at the Faculty of Law of the University of Havana.
