Hayes also spent three years as Senior Vice President at Rubenstein Communications, handling corporate communications for Tribeca Enterprises, Paramount Pictures, News Corp., Hearst, the NFL and many others. He has written two books on media topics: Open Wide: How Hollywood Box Office Became a National Obsession (Miramax Books) and Anytime PlaydateInside the Preschool Entertainment Boom, or, How Television Became My Baby’s Best Friend (Free Press/Simon & Schuster). His freelance writing has appeared in outlets such as the New York TimesForbesTV Guide and the Boston Globeand he appears regularly as an analyst for media outlets such as CBS News, Wired magazine and public radio’sMarketplace.
